W. David Allen, Ph.D.
Professor of Economics

Hello, and welcome to my web page at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAHuntsville). Prior to coming here I studied at the University of Arkansas in the excellent Walton College, home to many outstanding scholars. Do browse those sites. Meanwhile, I hope you find my site interesting/useful.
RESEARCH
I conduct research primarily in the economics of crime and victimization, as seen among my published articles and working manuscripts. My scholarly book in this area, Criminals and Victims, was published by Stanford University Press in May 2011. Click the cover image above for more information. A few of my older papers in labor economics study various issues related to time allocation. An updated listing of my publications and working papers appears within the links below and in my curriculum vitae (PDF format). I also coordinate the Friday Afternoon Research Group series of research seminars in the College of Business Administration. For more information, click on the large link below.
