The program is sponsored by the Partnership for Biotechnology Research (PBR) and is currently a partnership between PBR, UAH and Open Biosystems, Inc. Charger Products was established approximately 18 months ago and already has developed and launched one product, the Leopard Transfection Array (LTA). Currently, further improvement and expansion of the LTA is planned and two other products are in development. Since we are considering expanding the Charger Products program, we feel that it would be beneficial to obtain an objective analysis and evaluation of the program from a business perspective at this time.

    3. Identification of missing components (if present)
      1. Recommendation for appropriate implementation
  2. Analysis and evaluation of the three products currently in development from a business perspective (marketing analysis)

All of the above would require that the analyst understand the structure and desired function(s) of the Charger Products program and the products in development in considerable detail. This could take some time for an individual with a non-biotechnical background.

For each product the student needs to conduct a marketing analysis and must include:

  • Identify Target Markets.
  • Determine if the product is a tangible solution to the market’s needs.
  • Determine the best method of promotion.
  • Determine the best method of distribution.
  • Suggest a pricing strategy.
