Project 2: Introduction to HTML Assitant Pro
Lesson 1: Starting HTML Assitant Pro
HTML Assistant Pro can be started from Windows 95 "Start"
menu.
It can also be launched in the UAH Admininistrative Science computer
labs by clicking on its "Lighting Bolt" icon in the "Internet
Applications" folder.
Lesson 2: Identifying the Elements of HTML Assistant Pro
The Assistant Pro Window consists of an:
- Application title bar,
- Menu bar,
- the applicationTool button* bar,
- Document title bar,
- the document Tool button* bar,
- Active document window, and
- the Status bar (*as you point to the tool buttons, a brief
description of that tool's function is displayed on the Status
bar.
To see all the above elements:
- Start HTML Assistant Pro on your computer.
- Click on the document icon to open a new text window.
- Right-click on the document window to display frequently used HTML
tags.
- Click on the "Styles" button to display character style tags.
- The "HTML" menu gives you a list of tags used less
frequently.
- The "Open File" icon on the application tool bar allows you
to open and edit a previously saved .htm, .txt., .url document.
- Click on the "Open File" dialog box "Cancel" button or
press the {ESC} key cancel the "open file" command.
- The "Tag Tools" palette can be displayed or hidden from the
"Options" menu.
- The "Window" menu allows you to: Cascade,
Tile, or Arrange the windows open in Assistant
Pro's application window.
- The Help menu brings up Assistant Pro's Help Table
of Contents as well as its Contents, Search,
Print buttons, ....
- You may Exit the application from its File menu.
See Table 2.1 on pages 20-21 of you text for a list of the
programs tool buttons and a description of what each does.
Lesson 3: Getting Help in HTML Assistant Pro
- Press the {F1} keyboard function key.
- Press the {Alt} key and then the {Left} or {Right} arrow (cursor)
keys to access the Help menu.
- Use the mouse to "left-click" on the Help menu.
